COLLEGE UNIFORM STANDARDS
Our uniform identifies students as an important part of a community and ensures a positive image in line with our College values and our place as an academic school.
Each student at The Hamilton and Alexandra College is individually responsible for ensuring that they are dressed in the College uniform and neatly presented at all times during every school day. Students will be advised when specific uniforms are required.
Students must wear the correct school uniform when travelling to and from school.
Please ensure that all clothing items are clearly named.

New Sport Uniform FAQs
The PE uniform is evolving to meet the needs of active students from the Early Learning Centre to Year 12. The current PE uniform was implemented in 2013, with some items dating further back. We have received consistent student and parent feedback on the wearability of uniform pieces and recognised it was time to change the items to reflect current needs.
Can students wear the current uniform with the new uniform?
From Term 4 2025, students can wear either the old or the new uniform. However, items of each cannot be worn together. Students should wear either all new uniform items or all old uniform.
Will the new uniform pieces be more expensive?
The new uniform pieces are very similar to the current uniform prices.
Changeover period
The new PE and Sports Uniform is available to wear now, however it is not mandatory until Term 1 2028. This gives families time to transition to the new uniform and purchase core items when needed.
I’m in Year 12 and need a new top but don’t want to by the whole new uniform. What do I do?
The Noone Uniform Shop will have the ‘old’ sports uniform available and reduced in price by 50%. Sizes may become limited as the old uniform won’t be restocked.
How durable are the fabrics used in the new PE uniform?
All garments are machine washable, and most can be tumble dried. A majority of the fabrics use updated technology from that used in the old uniform, including sustainably sourced and natural materials.
Is the formal uniform changing?
No. We are not making any changes to the formal uniform. However, there may continue to be some small additions to reflect the evolving needs of our student body.
