Daily Boarding Life
Daily Boarding House Routines
Boarding House routines are designed for the wellbeing and safety of our students.
All students are encouraged to eat and study together, and take a break from devices in the evenings before bed. School policy is for devices to be secured outside their rooms overnight and the Boarding house doors to be locked at lights out. Adjustments can be made, with approval from MDD, for meal times, sporting commitments, and travel.
Monday to Thursday
7.00 am Breakfast served in the Dining Hall
8.00 am Breakfast concludes and students leave for school
8.15 am Room and uniform check
8.30 am Boarding House is closed for cleaning each morning
SCHOOL – 8.45 am to 3.25 pm
4.00 pm After walking to the Boarding House from school, students sign in with MDD at the Dining Hall and have some afternoon tea
6.00 pm Dinner and roll-call
7.00 pm Study begins for all year levels
8.00 pm Year 7-8 end of study
8.30 pm Year 9-10 end of study
8.45 pm Year 11-12 end of study
9.15 pm Every Wednesday evening supper is available in the Dining Hall
9.15 pm Year 7-8 lights out
9.30 pm Boarding House is quiet, for all students
Year 9–11 lock up, phone and any other IT devices
9.30 pm Doors locked
9.45 pm Year 9-10 lights out
10.00 pm Year 11-12 lights out
Friday
3.30 pm Students may have street leave
5.30 pm All students must be signed in at the Boarding House
6.00 pm Dinner and roll-call
10.00 pm House is quiet. Doors locked.
10.30 pm Lights out
*Seniors can study later by approval of the MDD.
Saturday
8–9.00 am Breakfast
10.30 am Morning Tea
12.00 pm Lunch
1.30 pm Afternoon Tea
6.00 pm Dinner and roll-call
10.00 pm House is quiet. Doors locked.
10.30 pm Lights out for all students
Sunday
11.00 am Brunch and student check-in
12.00 pm Lunch
6.00 pm Dinner and roll-call
7.00 pm Prep and weekly planning
9.00 pm Year 7-10 lights out
9.15 pm Year 11-12 lights out. Doors locked.
