Knowledge and Wisdom

Learning and Achievement

The motto of The Hamilton and Alexandra College is:

“Knowledge and Wisdom”

We believe that there is benefit in ‘knowing stuff’ – knowledge of the best thought and most enduring ideas forms a key part of our inheritance. Yet this must be balanced by the developing wisdom to know how and when to employ this knowledge.

Learning and academic attainment are at the heart of everything we do at The Hamilton and Alexandra College. We encourage students to do more, know more, and we believe that they will with carefully planned guidance. The majority of our students seek to study a tertiary course at university, and so our focus is unapologetically academically led.

We nurture all students to be independent thinkers with a broad understanding of the world, this shines through as they develop their own specific interests during their time at school. We are a non-selective school and seek success for all of our students across every year level, from ELC through to Year 12.

The Hamilton and Alexandra College Curriculum

Grounded in community values, we offer pathways to university, trades, and the workforce, helping every student thrive.
