The Hamilton and Alexandra College community is one of the great strengths of our school. You will find here a warm and involved community of Old Collegians, parents, friends, and supporters. As a key institution in Hamilton and Western District for over 150 years, school life is enmeshed in the life of the broader community, and these connections bring strength and shared joy.  

The students of The Hamilton and Alexandra College become members of this community from their very first day of school and remain part of it for the rest of their lives.

Old Collegians’ Association

The Old Collegians’ Association maintains the connection between Old Collegians’ of the College, Hamilton College, Hamilton and Western District College, and Alexandra College.

The Old Collegians’ Association is made up of an active and engaged group of past students. It aims to:

  • maintain and develop the reputation, traditions and identity of The Hamilton and Alexandra College.

  • ensure members are kept informed about the The Hamilton and Alexandra College, to provide equipment, scholarships and other assistance to the school.

  • encourage social activities for Old Collegians’.

Parents' and Friends’ Association

Parents and families are an essential part of life at The Hamilton and Alexandra College, supporting and promoting our school in a number of ways. The Parents’ and Friends’ Association (P&F) is a warm and welcoming group, which seeks the support and involvement and all school parents and guardians.

The P&F is run by the parents and guardians of current students and plays a key role in maintaining the school’s unique community atmosphere.

The Parents’ and Friends’ Association is always looking for people who can support The Hamilton and Alexandra College events and fundraisers, and there are many different ways to get involved.

College Foundation

The Foundation honours the past and secures the future of The Hamilton and Alexandra College, enhancing a culture of giving and raising funds by implementing strategic philanthropic initiatives to provide the best opportunities for students.

The Foundation actively fundraises to secure the school’s future by honouring three core pillars of philanthropy:

  • Heritage and History - Ensuring our rich history is respected, maintained and celebrated.

  • Facilities and Infrastructure - Providing modern and flexible learning environments for students and teachers to challenge and excel.

  • Scholarships - Offering Tower Scholarships to students who aspire to a quality independent education.

All members of the Foundation Board are keenly aware of the benefits that an independent school brings to the region and the service that The Hamilton and Alexandra College provides for local professionals. Members are passionate about the vital role that the school plays in supporting the growth and economic development of the region.
