Public Speaking and Debating

Public Speaking and Debating at
The Hamilton and Alexandra College

The ability to speak well and express your thoughts clearly and engagingly cuts across professions and vocations.

As we outsource more and more human labour to technology, public speaking remains one area we must command and master ourselves. The ability to speak well in public marks many of our graduates and notably sets students from The Hamilton and Alexandra College apart.

Each year, we have students enter and participate in a range of competitions, including: Lions Youth of the Year, Legacy Junior Public Speaking, Eisteddfod, ICCES Debating, as well as House Debating.

A highlight of every year is the Staff vs Student debate, which is inexplicably usually awarded to the students.
